Everything you need to know before booking a tour with Greg Wales in Bermuda.

Booking & getting started
Use the tour planner on the homepage — it takes about 2 minutes to fill out your wishlist and send it directly to Greg via WhatsApp, text, or email. Or skip the form entirely and just text him at +1 (441) 591-8807. He'll ask what you want to do and take it from there.
The earlier the better, especially during cruise season. That said, Greg is flexible — if he's available, he'll take same-day bookings. Cruise passengers in particular sometimes message him the morning their ship docks. If you can, reach out a few days ahead to lock in your date.
Not at all. Greg works with everyone — cruise passengers spending a day on the island, travellers flying in and staying at hotels or Airbnbs, and visitors who want him as their personal driver for multiple days. If you're in Bermuda or on your way, he can make something work.
Yes — this is one of Greg's favourite types of booking. Having him as your personal driver for a full trip means a different part of the island each day, local knowledge that builds as he gets to know what you love, and the freedom to explore at your own pace. Reach out via the General Enquiry tab on the planner and he'll work out the details with you directly.
The tour experience
Cruise excursions put 20–30 strangers on a coach following a fixed script. With Greg it's 100% private — just your group, at your pace, doing exactly what you want. No script, no rushing, no waiting for other people. Greg is a certified Blue Flag guide and a former police officer whose family has been connected to Bermuda's roads for four generations. There is no comparison.
Completely customised. There is no fixed route. You tell Greg what you want to see and do, he plans the best order and pacing, and then the day is yours. Want to spend an extra hour at the lighthouse? Done. Decide you'd rather skip the caves and go cliff jumping instead? No problem. It's your tour.
That's one of the things people mention most in reviews. Greg was born here and has spent most of his life on this island — he knows roads, viewpoints, beaches, and restaurants that aren't in any guidebook. The best fish sandwich on the island, cliff jumping spots only locals know, a sunset viewpoint that isn't on any tour map. You won't get that from a coach excursion.
Tours run from 4 hours (a half day) up to 10 hours (a full day). Most people doing a full island loop with stops for food, sightseeing, and a beach go for 6–7 hours. Greg will advise on timing once he knows your wishlist.
Always. Getting cruise passengers back before departure is Greg's first priority — it's built into how he plans the day from the start, with buffer time included. You can give him your all-aboard time and forget about it.
For cruise passengers, Greg meets you dockside at the Royal Naval Dockyard — sign in hand, right on time. For hotel and Airbnb guests, he'll come to wherever you're staying. For airport arrivals, he'll be at the terminal. Just tell him where you are and he'll be there.
Vehicles & passengers
Greg has two vehicles. His private taxi is a black Toyota Alphard — comfortable, air conditioned, and seats 1–6 passengers. His mini bus is a white Toyota HiAce — spacious, fully air conditioned, and seats 6–13 passengers. Both are clean, well-maintained, and built for the Bermuda roads.
Yes. Both vehicles are comfortable for elderly passengers and Greg is experienced at pacing tours around people with mobility considerations. If anyone in your group has specific mobility needs, mention it when you get in touch and Greg will make sure everything is sorted.
Absolutely. The mini bus has room for a stroller and Greg is used to touring with young families. He's great with kids — patient, entertaining, and knows which stops work well for families.
Up to 13 people in the mini bus, or up to 6 in the private taxi. If your group is larger than 13, get in touch and Greg will discuss options.
Pricing & payment
Greg doesn't publish his rates — pricing depends on your group size, how long you want to tour, and what you want to do. Use the tour planner on the homepage to send Greg your wishlist and he'll reply with a full personalised itinerary and quote. No obligation, no pressure.
Some attractions have their own entry fees — Crystal Caves is the main one. Greg will flag these upfront when he sends your quote so there are no surprises. Food, drinks, and any activity fees are separate and paid by you on the day.
Greg accepts cash and major credit and debit cards. USD and Bermuda dollars are equal in value, so US cash works perfectly.
Practical & logistics
No international calls needed. Just text or WhatsApp Greg at +1 (441) 591-8807 — it works worldwide. Or use the tour planner on the homepage. You can also email gregorywales@yahoo.com.
Sunscreen, comfortable shoes, a swimsuit if you're planning on swimming or cliff jumping, and some cash for food and attraction entry fees. Greg's vehicle is air conditioned so you won't need to worry about the heat when you're driving between stops.
Bermuda's weather can be unpredictable. Greg knows the island well enough to adapt — if a beach isn't ideal, he'll suggest alternatives that make the most of the day. Get in touch with Greg directly if you have concerns about a specific date.
Tipping is never expected but always appreciated. If Greg gave you a great day — and based on the reviews, he usually does — a tip is a lovely way to say thank you. There's no standard amount; whatever feels right is right.
The Blue Flag Ambassador designation comes from the Bermuda Tourism Authority's official Ambassador Course — a programme dating back to the 1960s, originally created for tour drivers to give visitors the best possible experience of the island. The course covers Bermuda's history since the 1500s, its unique culture, and its people. Greg has completed this Bermuda Tourism Authority-endorsed certification, which means when you tour with him you're not just getting a driver — you're getting a trained, qualified ambassador for the island he was born and raised on.
